Website design for contractors

A site that gets you called.

Looking good is the easy part. We build sites for contractors around one job: the homeowner who lands on it decides you are the one worth calling.

What costs contractors calls

Most contractor sites lose work for the same handful of reasons, and none of them are about how the site looks.

  • It is slow. A homeowner on a phone, on cell service, will not wait several seconds.
  • The work is hidden. Four photos behind a gallery link, when the projects are the entire argument for hiring you.
  • One page for every service. Nothing on it is specific enough to convince anyone, or to compete in search.
  • Getting in touch is work. A form at the bottom of a long page, no phone number, nothing on a phone screen without scrolling.
  • No sign anyone is home. No recent projects, no recent reviews, a copyright date from three years ago.

None of that is cosmetic. Each one is a homeowner who was interested enough to land on your site and then called someone else.

The process

How a build goes

Three to five weeks, and you see it before anyone else does.

01

We start from your work

Your projects, your reviews, your service area, the jobs you want more of. The site is built around those rather than dropped into a template with your logo on it.

02

You see it before it goes live

We walk you through the build together on a call so you can react to the real thing. Changes happen there, not through a week of emails.

03

We build it to be found

Page structure, speed, and the details that decide whether Google can make sense of your site, handled while it is being built rather than bolted on later.

04

It goes live and keeps earning

A site is not finished the day it launches. New project pages, new photos, new reviews. That is what keeps it moving up instead of slowly sliding down.

No pitch. No pressure.

Common questions

Straight answers.

How much does a contractor website cost?

It depends on what the site needs and whether you are taking on ongoing work with us, so rather than quote a number that would be wrong for most contractors, we work it out with you on the first call. The call is free and there is no obligation to go ahead.

How long does it take?

Three to five weeks for most builds. The part that usually decides the timeline is how quickly we can get photos and details about your projects from you.

Do I own the site?

Yes. The domain, the content and the site are yours. If you leave, it goes with you.

Can you just fix my current site instead?

Often, yes, and it is cheaper. If the site is structurally sound we work with it. If it is slow, hard to use on a phone, or built on something that fights back, rebuilding costs less than working around it for a year. We tell you which one you are looking at on the first call.

What makes a contractor site different from any other site?

The buyer. A homeowner comparing three contractors wants to see work like theirs, proof you are real and local, and an easy way to get in touch, usually on a phone, usually in the evening. Most contractor sites are built to look good on a designer’s monitor instead.
